Tideborn Command
★★★★☆ 4.3
Tideborn Command takes real-time strategy and files off the fiddly bits that usually make the genre miserable on phones. You draw unit routes with a finger, group fleets with a tap, and the game pauses gracefully whenever you open a menu. It respects that you might be playing standing on a train.
Maps are small but dense, so matches land around ten minutes. There's a tide mechanic that slowly reshapes the terrain mid-battle, which forces you to keep rethinking positioning rather than turtling in one corner.
The single-player campaign is the strong part. The skirmish AI is decent but gets predictable; I'd love a bit more variety there. Still, for mobile strategy this is remarkably comfortable to control.
What we liked
- Touch controls that finally feel right for RTS
- Short, decisive matches
- Terrain that shifts during battle
