Greenfield Depot
★★★★☆ 4.2
Greenfield Depot puts you in charge of a small rail network, routing little trains to deliver goods between stations before demand piles up. It starts as a gentle layout puzzle and slowly becomes a genuine juggling act as new lines open and timetables tighten.
What I appreciate is that there's no real-money timer nonsense pushing you to wait. You expand at your own pace, and the challenge comes from your own planning, not artificial delays. Tearing up a track you laid wrong and rebuilding it better is oddly relaxing.
It runs well offline, which makes it ideal travel company — fitting, given the subject. The late game can get busy, but it never tips into stressful.
What we liked
- Satisfying route-planning that grows in depth
- No pushy timers or waiting walls
- Works great fully offline
